Saint Denis Store Opening

WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY STORE!
This month, the first Foot Locker Community Store of France is opening in Saint-Denis, Paris. In this reenergized store, we aim to deeply connect with you. We are providing a space that goes beyond a traditional retail store, allowing you to become an active participant in the design and the overall experience. Basically, this is YOUR Foot Locker space.
In this new opening, five French artists played an essential role in embellishing the space with their diverse and highly appreciated art.
The first artist is Bebar. As the creative director of this project, Bebar didn't just bring this talented team together, he also executed for us a work called “Nuage93”. Born in 1993, this French-Spanish artist is distinguished by his versatility and dual practices such as mixing graffiti and academic techniques, figuration and abstraction, etc... Bebar learned academic techniques at the National School of Decorative Arts (ENSAD) in Paris and then at the Parsons School in New York. Now he uses his highly academic skills in the creation of transgressive street art. BEBAR expresses himself in different ways... illustration, sculpture, and even tattooing. Checkout his work on Instagram @bebarbarie, in art galleries, and in the streets of cities that inspire him: Paris, New York, Rio, Havana...
The second one is PEARL, a French artist of Congolese and Nigerian origin. She painted an entire wall dedicated to women in the Community Store. Through lettering, PEARL discovered graffiti in 2004, and then began specializing in the creation of portraits. The artist draws her inspiration from the spirit and aesthetics of African art, which she mixes with graffiti aesthetics. PEARL creates visual narratives that celebrate Black women and question identity in a multicultural context. Beyond her artistic work, she uses painting to raise awareness and unite the public around society issues. Discover her inspiring art on Instagram @pearlbruxa. Influenced by the works of Mati Klarwein, Tokio Aoyama and Joshua Mays, PEARL is a fan of Afrofuturism, comic books, cosmic, and psychedelic art.
Then, you have Fresha D. A creative artist who imagined for us a painting inspired by French and American Hip-Hop. Fresha D started his journey with street art. Little by little, he moved from spray cans to brushes and acrylic paint. Then, he replaced the walls with canvases. Through the portraits he creates, the artist conveys deep emotions about causes which matter the most to him. Fresha D has enticed many French and American Hip-Hop artists with his portrayal of them. Check them out on his Instagram @fresha_d_.
The next artist is Zoyer. He realized a wild style lettering in green and red in the store. Born in the north of France, Zoyer has been practicing graffiti for about ten years now. He focuses on wild-style letterings. For our Community Store, he drew his inspiration from the world of graphics and design, which he associated with traditional graffiti. Zoyer works mainly on the link between composition and color to create dynamic and striking art. Whenever he can, the artist participates in European Street art events. Zoyer likes to update his style and techniques regularly. This allows him to perfect his skills and be more creative. Checkout his amazing work on Instagram @al_zoyer.
Last but not least, you have Ykon. He created an artwork called “Street Dreams” that brings a great aesthetic softness against the codes of the street. Almost born with a pencil in his hands, Ykon began his graffiti career at the age of 11. Between softness and urban culture, his art shows great sensitivity. Ykon illustrates his life, passions, and dreams. To do so, he mixes – without hesitation – graffiti art, conventional illustration, photo, and video. For Ykon, everything is a matter of balance and duality. His sensitivity allows him to own the most vintage outdated style and make it contemporary. Ykon can bring great softness to the bold style of the street. Learn more about his art on Instagram @ykonreedit.
In addition to this tasteful decoration, the Foot Locker Community Store has a Red Star corner. This is a dedicated space to showcase the team’s jerseys. As partners of the club, we also use this corner to display bags that Red Star FC’s members created during an upcycling workshop. To honor their creations, team members of the Red Star club will be in the store on Saturday 12th to showcase their upcycled creations.
Finally, in this Community Store, we dedicated a space for the iconic TN. To celebrate this very popular style – not only in France, but also within the community –, we partnered with local design collective Haul Haus in creating the Nike Tuned Exhibition. You don't want to miss this!
